Tasks of school social work

School social work helps to identify difficulties early on and find solutions together. This includes, among other things:

  • Counselling for pupils, parents/guardians and teachers
  • Individual case-by-case assistance (e.g. arranging help, accompanying pupils to appointments, home visits if necessary)
  • Introducing and supporting class councils
  • Classroom projects, e.g. on anti-bullying, social training and violence prevention
  • Experiential education and team building
  • Cooperation and networking with extracurricular institutions (e.g. youth welfare office, counselling centres)
