Ready for your A-levels

Early preparation for the A-levels

The successful path to the Abitur does not begin in the final months of exams, but with early, transparent and reliable preparation. At Georgianum, we attach great importance to preparing our students step by step for the qualification phase and the Abitur exams – with sound subject knowledge, clear organisation and individual support.

Orientation in Year 11:
Setting the course

Even before the qualification phase begins, we lay the foundation for sound career decisions:

  • Structure of the upper school: We explain the organisation of the four semesters, course requirements and the various profile and subject options in all classes.
  • Subject presentations: Subject teachers provide comprehensive information about the content, teaching focus and exam formats of their subjects – including those that are new in Year 11.
  • Joint information evening: Pupils and parents/guardians receive all the relevant facts in a compact format and have the opportunity to ask further questions.

The start of the qualification phase

At the start of the first semester of the qualification phase (12.1), we intensify our support with a central plenary session. Here, we clarify all organisational details:

  • Key dates and exam schedules
  • Documentation and submission requirements
  • Regulations for dealing with absences
  • Individual support: At this point, students choose a teacher as their tutor, who acts as their permanent contact person and advises them throughout their upper school years.

Continuous support and transparency

Security comes from regularity. That is why information events are held at the beginning or end of each semester. This ensures that everyone involved remains informed about the general conditions and that new requirements are made transparent in good time.

In addition, we offer individual consultations at any time. Whether it's about performance levels, possible qualifications or personal school careers – we actively support students in shaping their individual paths.

Final sprint: Preparing for the final examinations

At the end of the last semester (13.2), we prepare the year group for the examination phase in a final plenary session:

  • Logistics: Schedule for the examination days (attendance requirements, what to do in case of illness, etc.).
  • Schedule: Joint review of all relevant dates for the written and oral examinations.
  • Results: Information on the announcement of grades and possible oral re-examinations.

In this way, we ensure that our students are well prepared, informed and supported as they progress through the qualification phase and can look forward to their Abitur examinations with confidence.
