Placing trust, reaching one's limits

08. September 2025

From 1 to 3 and 3 to 5 September, our seven Year 5 classes, together with their form teachers, our school social worker Ms Beckmann and Mr Kösters, visited the Koppelschleuse in Meppen to:

  • play together,
  • solve tricky tasks together,
  • to trust each other during some tasks and games,
  • push their own limits in order to find solutions together with others,
  • build and test dams,
  • unravelling the Gordian knot,
  • producing flattery stones,
  • winning East Frisian rugby,
  • transport classmates safely across a chain,
  • exploring the barefoot path, water treading and the outdoor gym,
  • exploring the surroundings of the youth hostel and the city centre,
  • getting to know and appreciate the class teachers better,
  • developing further rules for everyday school life as a class and electing class representatives,
  • playing football, volleyball, table tennis, etc., and simply having fun, romping around and laughing in the rooms, corridors, halls and grounds!

These were eventful days that strengthened the class communities and brought a lot of joy, as the following pictures show:
